Our Programme

Each term we have a different theme and most of our meetings and trips are based round this. In the past we have done Being Healthy, Around the World, TV & Film, Get Wet!, Wildlife, Circus and Science Investigator!

At the end of each half-term, the brownies discuss what activities they want to do next term and then during the holidays the leaders meet up and put together the new programme.

On the first meeting back, each Brownie receives a newsletter which details everything planned for each week along with any trips or outings.

We usually do badges as a pack as part of the topic for the term but Brownies can also work on badges individually at home. All our Brownies have a sash to sew/glue their badges onto.

We hold special theme nights throughout the year. In the Spring Term there is Chinese New Year and Valentines Day and we hold a special Mothers' Day Celebration. This term usually ends with an Easter Theme Night where we make things and follow the Easter Bunny Trail!

    In the
Summer Term we like to spend time outdoors when we can! Towards the end of the Summer Term, we hold a Presentation Evening where certificates, medals and prizes are given out. We always have a special end of term outing before we finish for the summer holidays.

    In the
Autumn Term we try to have lots of different activities up to October half-term because after half-term our meetings are always taken up with practises for the Christmas Play. This is a fantastic modern nativity style play which all the brownies take part in. There is singing and dancing and everyone has a part to play and a costume. It's held on two nights and in the past we have been delighted to perform it during morning assembly for Garrett Hall School. We always have a Christmas trip to a pantomime too!
